Tug Cheyenne

The muscle of The Open Lake Group is Cheyenne, acquired in July 2017. Built in 1965 in Brooklyn, New York by Ira S. Bushey and Sons, Cheyenne is a single screw Erie Canal-style tug with a telescoping wheelhouse and rigging for low clearance operation.

Her 2000-horsepower Fairbanks Morse power plant makes her capable of servicing ships and barges around the Great Lakes and inland river systems. Cheyenne took the overall victory in her inaugural entry to the 2018 Detroit Tugboat Race.
